Papillon was established in 2003 by 
Gretchen Paape, a fashion enthusiast and business woman who had the desire to showcase top New Zealand and international labels which were previously unavailable in Hawke's Bay.

Now, many years later, Papillon has built up a strong reputation in the Hawke’s Bay region and further afield as a place where one-off, fashionable clothing is presented with love & care, and can be obtained for reasonable prices.

Gretchen is proud of her French-styled store, the lines and labels represented at Papillon, and also offering each customer honest, friendly, and expert advice on what clothes are right for them. She believes that, ‘Fashion is about wearing what suits both your personality and your figure’, and loves assisting women of all ages achieve a stylish, comfortable look.
